A SCIENTIFIC DIET FOR FISH
Ecological Labs Microbe-Lift/Legacy foods are made by the extrusion process - not pelleting. During extrusion the cell walls of all organic substances contained in the food are disintegrated under pressure. The nutrients hidden in that cells are thus easily accessible for digesting agents, resulting in much higher digestibility in comparison with pelleted or flaked food. Additionally the Legacy foods have an extremely low phosphorous content. This keeps fish waste to a minimum and helps to ensure superior water quality.
The MICROBE-LIFT/LEGACY Nutritional Feeding System is compromised of the finest cold-water fish food formulas on the market today. Each food is manufactured with the highest quality ingredients selected for optimum growth and the latest technology for digestibility and color enhancement. All MICROBE-LIFT/LEGACY foods contain the lowest ash content and the highest percentage of digestibility.
Choose one of the three primary foods and feed it three days per week (every other day). Alternate with the two supplemental foods(Fruits and Greens and Immuno-stimulant, four days per week (every other day). High Growth and Energy Food
With Added Color Enhancers
In the late spring when the warmer temperatures arrive, koi and goldfish need a boost of protein for growth since they have depleted their fat reserves over the winter. In the fall a higher protein diet is also required since pond fish need to build up in preparation for their winter fast. Use this feed at a minimum temperature of 68 degrees F (20 degrees C). Pond fish really start to grow at this temperature. You can use this feed up to four times per day. Feed between 2% - 3% of the fishes' body weight per day.

Summer Staple Food

As the warmer weather sets in, begin increasing the frequency and quantity of your feeding. The Summer Staple Food has the animal protein and color enhancers that are needed during this season. Cold Weather Food (Wheat Germ)
Spring/fall formula - Floating Pellets
In the cold weather during spring and fall when the nighttime temperature goes below 55 degrees F (13 degrees C) feed the Cold Weather formula. When the pond water's temperature drops, the fish require a highly digestible cool-water diet. The cold-water diet is made with lesser amounts of protein but contains wheat germ, which is easily digested and also contains a higher level of fats.

Immuno-Stimulant Food
With Montmorillonite Clay
Feed above 68 degrees F (20 degrees C). Alternate feeding the two supplemental foods every other day (four days per week). Due to their lower protein content they can be alternated with the Cold Weather formula during colder weather as well. The Montmorillonite Clay also acts as a toxin binder by neutralizing the metabolic toxins.
