d) Sure, this is a matter of opinion, but I have reasons for this particular order. Protein Skimming removes both particles and dissolved organics before they have a chance to break down, so putting the skimmer first takes maximum advantage of what it can do. A particulate filter could be first, but will not be fully effective unless cleaned daily. A biofilter creates nutrients and makes less nitrate if it is placed after the skimmer and particulate filter. Carbon is most useful in removing color. Putting it last reduces organic fouling.
